Prior to commencing at Mahony Family Lawyers, Kathryn was an Associate to a Judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia. In her role as Associate Kathryn worked in both the Parramatta Registry and Sydney Registry. Kathryn’s in-depth and diverse Court experience has left her with a unique understanding of how matters progress within the Family Law Courts.
Kathryn’s experience working closely alongside Judicial Officers has given her an appreciation of judicial decision-making and the different approaches taken by Judges within the Family Law system. Kathryn has expertise in drafting complex court orders and applying relevant case law to legal argument.
Kathryn is an asset to the team at Mahony Family Lawyers and is available to assist our clients with a range of their personal legal needs. Kathryn is available to appear in the Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia at Parramatta and Sydney and is also available to undertake Family Law agency work.
Kathryn can assist in a range of Family Law matters, including parenting applications (recovery order, location order and relocation applications), property settlement, spousal maintenance, preparation of Consent Orders and Parenting Plans.
In her role as an Associate to a Judge of the Federal Circuit Court, Kathryn was exposed to the often destructive and at times, unreasonably litigious approach taken in some Family Law disputes. As a result of this, Kathryn is a practitioner who is focused on ensuring the timely, efficient and cost effective resolution of your legal dispute. Kathryn is able to advise clients not only on the merits of their case but also the available resolution pathways, such as, lawyer-assisted negotiations, private mediations, conciliations and arbitrations.
